TERRACE BAY, ON – May 3rd, 4th and 5th, the Annual Ontario Library Service North (OLS-N) Joint Conference was held in Sudbury, ON.  This year’s conference theme ‘Libraries: Your Connection to the World’ was mirrored by the  myriad of delegates who attended from a wide range of Northern communities, including First Nation, Francophone and English public libraries. The annual conference presented an opportunity for staff and board members from “libraries of different sizes who serve similar and yet unique clientele to learn from one another, sharing their cultures and experiences” explained  OLS-N CEO Leanne Clendening in her invitation to Northern Ontario libraries to attend. An opportunity for attendees to celebrate the work they do every day to inform, educate and inspire the residents of their communities it included traditional opening and closing ceremonies and a formal banquet on the evening of the 4th where several awards were presented.
