THUNDER BAY, ON – If you are looking for something a little different, and likely very special to do on Saturday night. Here is an idea. Ben Bartlett and Shy-Anne Hovorka are hosting a music workshop on Saturday with Nashville recording artist Jerry Vandiver. After the workshop, there will be a concert that starts at 7PM. The concert will be combined with a bonfire/jam session/open mic later in the evening that is sure to be a hit too.

Jerry Vandiver has seen his songs recorded by such artists as Tim McGraw , Phil Vassar , Lonestar, Barbara Mandrell , Lee Greenwood and The Oak Ridge Boys to name a few. He scored a Top 5 single on Gene Watson ’s “Don’t Waste It On The Blues”, a Top 20 on Wild Rose’s “Go Down Swingin’” and #2 on Tim McGraw’s “For A Little While”. Thanks to these artists, Jerry has songs on over 15 million records, two of which are hanging on the walls of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Aspiring musicians are invited to bring their guitars, drums, hamrmonicas, or other accoustical instruments. This is your opportunity to enjoy some amazing music in a session where you can get to know the artists and learn a little about them too.

The concert is an affordable $20 and runs from 7PM until 9PM July 16th.

If you feel like making a night of it, you’re invited to bring your tent. There is over 100 acres of land you could camp on.

Here are the directions:

Ben’s House is out towards Nipigon.
• Drive East towards Nipigon (past Pass Lake, Quimet Canyon, Dorian, Hurket in this order)
• After Hurket, you will pass Black Sturgeon River, and to the right you will see Everard Road
• Drive 500 meters past Everard Road. On the right hand side you will see a very long driveway, and a snow plow turnaround across from the Driveway. We will also have the driveway marked with lots of balloons.

There are still reportedly a few spots available for the Music Workshop. If you are an aspiring musician and want to learn from one of the best, for an investment of $100 you can still sign up. You can contact Shy-anne at shyanne.leah@gmail.com for information on the song writing workshop. You don’t want to miss this if you are planning on building your musical career.

The only advice from Shy-anne and Ben is “Please bring mosquito spray too, and a lawnchair”. Afterall we are in Northwestern Ontario.
