Chill shutout Demize

 Springfield, MO The Thunder Bay Chill has started their season long road trip off with a win after defeating the Springfield Demize 4-0, Saturday night at the Cooper Sports Complex. The Chill used four different scorers in the win, and had the game wrapped up before the end of the first half.

Sergio Villalva set the tone for the rest of the game by opening up the scoring for the Chill in the 7th minute. Goals followed by Pedro Pereira (29th minute), and Brandon Swartzendruber (43rd), as the Chill closed the half with a 3-0 lead. The second half belonged to goalkeeper Steven Paterson as he made sure the Demize never got on the scoreboard before passing off goalkeeping duties to Nick Ciliberti in the 83rd minute. Luis Gonzalez capped off the scoring in the 88th minute, highlighting the Chill’s depth at the offensive end.

Scorers Villalva and Pereira also received yellow cards in the match. Teammates Abraham Gomez and Jordian Farahani also received cautions. No Chill player suffered injuries in the game. 

The Chill will continue on their road trip facing the St. Louis Lions, Sunday, July 3rd, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. (EDT) at the Tony Glavin Soccer Complex, in Cottleville, MO.
