 MANITOUWADGE, ON – Sunday, July 3, 2011 Ministry of Natural Resources Forest Fire Rangers and Township of Manitouwadge Volunteer Firefighters attended a burning slash-pile on the road known locally as the ‘Jack Watson Logging Channel’.  The fire was close enough to the community that it could be seen from the end of Station Road behind the industrial park.  A helicopter water bomber, filling at Chicken Farm Lake, was ‘bombing’ the fire repeatedly while fire crews hosed the slash piles.

Updates will be published when received from the MNR regarding what the investigation may have discovered in regards to the cause of this fire.
