Staying Afloat In Manitouwadge

MANITOUWADGE, ON – It was another beautiful sunny day in Manitouwadge today, Friday July 29th. The summer has been full of warm, blue skied days, and residents in Manitouwadge certainly have been taking full advantage of them.

The Oasis Pool which continues to offer free swims every day has been very well attended.  A reminder to adults that if splashing around amidst the kids isn’s quite your cup of tea, aside from Public Swims every day as well as Family Swims and Happy Hour (bring inflatables, sinkers, etc.) Tuesdays and Thursdays, the more ‘mature’ swimmers can enjoy Lappers and Aquatics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5-6pm what a great way to unwind, stay fit and have fun!

Manitouwadge Golf Course has been visited by a regular stream of local and regional golfers while these also provide entertainment for diners enjoying the “Loft Bar & Grill” a full service, licensed, restaurant which opened in the Community Clubhouse this summer.

And of course Manitouwadge Lake continues to draw those who enjoy playing on the beach, swimming, angling, boating, canoeing, kayaking and other activities on various parts of the lake .  Today was no exception, there were people coming and going at Lion’s Beach throughout the day, and a boat pulling a brave pair on an inflatable craft behind it entertained those who watched from the dock.

Remember if you are enjoying the water this summer, do so safely.  Practice good common sense and follow related laws when boating, playing at the beach or angling – these rules are in place to keep us all safe.  When in doubt, be sure to seek out more information before going forward with an activity as ignorance is no defense in a court of law and the old saying “Better Safe Than Sorry” really is true!

Have a fun and safe long weekend everyone!
