ATV Collides with Suburban – 2 Youths Transported to MGH

ATV/VEHICLE COLLISION 

Manitouwadge, ON – Wednesday August 24, 2011 at approximately 5:00pm Manitouwadge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving an ATV and a Motor vehicle. The collision occurred on a roadway in the Hillsport area North of Manitouwadge.

An ATV being operated on a roadway by two youths collided with a Suburban SUV. The two youths sustained injuries and were transported to the Manitouwadge General Hospital by EMS and treated for their injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was uninjured.

The investigation revealed that the youths riding the ATV were not wearing helmets. Injuries consisted of broken bones and lacerations to both individuals on the ATV.

Due to extensive damages to the Suburban SUV, a local tow company attended the scene to remove the vehicle.

The OPP are continuing their investigation regarding this collision and remind the public the importance riding safely and wearing helmets when operating off road vehicles.
