Almost another month behind us and September is in the not too distant future. In September, we will be treated to some of the biggest Hollywood hits from summer coming to us on DVD and Blu-Ray. Such titles include Bridesmaids, Transformers 3, Thor, X-Men First Class and many more. Before we get to these titles, we have two more weeks of August releases. This week features thirteen new titles. They are as follows;
NEW RELEASES
Blitz: starring Jason Statham- A tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
The Beaver: starring Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster- A troubled husband and executive adopts a beaver hand-puppet as his sole means of communicating. (Drama) (DVD)
Henry’s Crime: starring Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga and James Caan- After being released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit, an ex-con targets the same bank he was sent away for robbing. (Crime/Drama) (DVD)
Beneath Hill 60: The true story about a man who must separate himself from his new love to go to war beneath the German lines. (War/Action) (DVD)
Bride Flight: The story of the lives of three women from different backgrounds who emigrate to New Zealand as war brides. (Romance/Drama) (DVD)
The Greatest Movie Ever Sold: A documentary about branding, advertising and product placement that is financed and made possible by brands, advertising and product placement. (Documentary) (DVD)
House of Fallen: A mysterious group known as “The Twelve” makes war with the Grigori…fallen angels who walk the earth. (Horror) (DVD)
I Will Follow: A day in the life of a grieving woman, and the twelve visitors who help her move forward with her life (Drama) (DVD)
Smile: Several students on a school holiday discover a mysterious camera, and start dying one by one soon after their picture is taken. (Horror) (DVD)
Super Hybrid: A car with a mind of its own goes on a seemingly unstoppable killing spree. (Horror) (DVD)
Tactical Force: starring Steve Austin- A training exercise for the LAPD SWAT Team goes terribly wrong when they find themselves pitted against two rival gangs while trapped in an abandoned Hangar, armed with nothing but blanks. (Action) (DVD)
Touching Home: starring Ed Harris- The true story about a father struggling to make amends with his twin sons as they pursue their dreams of professional baseball. (Drama) (DVD)
Win Win: starring Paul Giamatti- A struggling lawyer and wrestling coach takes in the grandson of his client and soon discovers that the young man is a star wrestler. (Drama) (DVD)
FOR THE GAMERS:
Deus Ex Human Revolution: The third instalment in the Deus Ex series, Human Revolution is actually a prequel to the original game. Taking place in the year 2027, the plot features a company that specializes in human augmentation. Available on PS3 and 360!
It’s better to be safe than sorry: get those pre-orders in on titles like NHL 12, Madden 12, Modern Warfare 3 and Gears of War 3. I mentioned last week about the Crossover Video Jays mixed slo-pitch team. I am pleased to announce this week that the Jays have clinched a top of the standings finish after another win on Monday evening. The Jays will be one of three teams competing in the “A division” playoffs starting next week!
