MANITOUWADGE, ON – Today, Bob Kirkpatrick, member of the Manitouwadge Outdoors Enthusiasts (MOE), contacted OntarioNewsNorth.com to announce that the group will be offering assistance to those interested in submitting their comments on the CLUAH (Crown Land Use Atlas Harmonization) project whose deadline for public input is rapidly approaching (September 2nd, 2011). It seems the MOE hope that every resident who has concerns, suggestions or comments on the subject of Crown Land Use in the Manitouwadge area have their opinion considered once the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources, Linda Jeffrey, begins her review of the public input she requested.

From10am to 2pm  (14h), Thursday August 17th, Friday August 18th and Monday August 22nd, Kirkpatrick and other MOE members will be set up in front of the post office in Manitouwadge to assist:

  • People who want assistance submitting their comments/suggestions online to Minister of Natural Resources Linda Jeffrey regarding the CLUAH Project options;
  • People who have questions about the CLUAH project options presented at the public sessions which took place at the end of July(CLICK HERE to review coverage/interviews/info from that session), in Manitouwadge, White River, Hornepayne, Dubreuilville and Wawa;
  • People who could not attend and are seeking more information regarding what options/info was presented at the public sessions;
  • People who would like to have their CLUAH Project comments/suggestions included in the community submission package being delivered by Mayor John MacEachern to Wendy J. LeClair, MNR Wawa District Planning and Information Management Supervisor to ensure they reach Minister Linda Jeffrey prior to the Thursday, September 1st, 2011 deadline.

There is a great deal of information to sift through in regards to the CLUAH Project but several members of the Manitouwadge Outdoors Enthusiasts (including well-respected, long-time Manitouwadge residents like Kirkpatrick) have studied the many, many pages of documents, maps and tables at length and will answer, as best they are able, questions you may have in regards to these and assist you in submitting your suggestions, whatever those may be. “There is no doubt that the Remote Tourism Operators involved will submit their suggestions, as per the guidelines, to Minister Jeffrey. Residents who are concerned with continued access to Crown Land in the Manitouwadge area need to ensure they do the same prior to the September 1st Deadline” explained Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick also explained that those wanting to submit their comments/suggestions online (CLICK HERE to submit online) could also receive information on how to do so successfully at the open information sessions.

If you have yet to submit your suggestions regarding which of the CLUAH project options you feel would best serve yourself and your family and would feel you could benefit from the information which will be provided, attend one of the public sessions that the Manitouwadge Outdoor Enthusiasts are hosting:
