Manitouwadge Town Council is Broadcast LIVE! every 2^nd and 4^th Wednesday of the month.
OntarioNewsNorth.com does and has provided this service to residents of Manitouwadge AND the township/council at NO cost to them
the Township continues to refuse to share this information with residents via the forecaster, and/or information on their website. When council was broadcast on Shaw cable it was widely promoted by the township.
In spite of doing nothing to share details of where to watch with residents the Mayor and some members of council have been proud to tell Councillors and others at meetings/conferences outside of our community that “Manitouwadge Council is Broadcast LIVE” and so are clearly aware of the MANY benefits this can have for our community, involving residents in their municipal government, keeping people informed of council decisions, ect.
A survey done by the Township after the 20+ hr black out in our community several years ago revealed that more people in Manitouwadge said they turned to the internet for information in times of urgency and emergency than the television.
If you expect more from your Township, if you would like to see it SUPPORTING local business (publishing basic details in the Forecaster about Live Broadcasts of Council on www.OntarioNewsNorth.com and the availability of this footage to be viewed afterwards) not just promising to do so, you are encouraged to leave your comments below
