DUBREUILVILLE, ON – October 7th, 2011 Luc Levesque, Volunteer with the Alouettes Snowmobile Club, went out to visit some of the trails and assess their status, evaluating work done in prior years to ascertain a need, or not, for some major or minor trail maintenance. In the video, Levesque walks us through bringing his ATV out for the first time this season, visits a beaver dam and more!

The regular communications with riders from near and far, by Alouettes Club Members via social media (link below to Alouettes’ Facebook Page) and sites like YouTube plus their regular trail condition updates on OntarioNewsNorth.com and other websites is all part of why the club was recognized this year at the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Annual General Meeting and Awards Supper with the Ted Day Communications Award (see links below). The Alouettes are a great example of Northern Ontario clubs which struggle with being responsible for huge areas while lacking the population or volunteer base to do so and their use of modern technology to draw in the needed support to do so. PLEASE REMEMBER to buy your OFSC Trail Pass from the club whose trails you use to ensure they receive the dollars needed to ensure trails are kept open.
