Holy Angels Runners Represent Accross Region

St. Hilary’s 22nd Annual Cross Country Run – RED ROCK

RED ROCK, ON – October 11, the Holy Angels Running Team from Schreiber, Ontario participated in the St. Hilary’s 22nd Annual Cross Country Run in Red Rock.  After weeks of training, 15 students from Grade 2 to 6 made the trip to Red Rock to run the 2.8km course.  This year our team was made up of 8 Junior Boys (11 & under) and 7 Junior Girls. 

Holy Angels FIRST in Junior Boys division:

  •  Jack McMillan ran his way into 1st place coming in at a time of 12.01. 
  • Dallan Commisso wasn’t far behind and he came in third with a time of 12.54. 

Both boys greatly improved their times from last year!

  • Connor Gionet was not far behind and he finished 4th

There were a total of 52 boys.  Also beating their previous times were C.J. Figliomeni (7th), Cosimo Figliomeni (12th), Thomas Anderson (25th).  New this year, Girolamo Figliomeni and Nicholas Figliomeni finished in 27th & 28th place respectively.  With our 8 Junior Boys combined times, Holy Angels placed first in the Junior Boys Division out of 9 schools and they took home the trophy for the second year in a row.

Junior Girls Division:

  • Julianna Kabatay blew away her previous time and finished 3rd out of 59 girls with a time of 13.03.  She was also awarded the Gavin Boudreau Award for dedication and commitment to running. 
  • Diana Figliomeni finished in 5th place,
  • Kirsten Andrews in 20th place (her first year),
  • Lexi Armstrong in 37th place, Michaila Kinney in 39th place,
  • Alyson Chasse in 40th place
  • Dabney Bouchard in 53rd place (her first year). 

All the girls and boys did an amazing job and worked towards their goal of improving their time from last year. CONGRATULATIONS!

Lakehead Mid-Canada Elementary Run – THUNDER BAY

THUNDER BAY, ON – October 22, Jack McMillan participated in the Lakehead Mid-Canada Elementary Run in Thunder Bay and ran 3km with a time of 12.28. He came in 35th place out of 146 runners. Way to go Jack!

On behalf of the coaches, Mrs. K Figliomeni and Mrs. J Bergeron, we are very proud of all our students for their dedication and drive to the end!
