MANITOUWADGE, ON – Saturday, October 15th Zumba Fitness Instructor Magdalena Dziekonski from Thunder Bay’s Pulse Fitness offered three Zumba classes at the Manitouwadge Recreation Centre Auditorium.  Learn the steps a 2hr morning class, Zumba Gold a low-impact Seniors and Beginners focused afternoon class and Zumba Fitness Party an early evening  high intensity class to hip hop and energetic music complete with light enhancements which

had participants sweating and rocking out while they cheered on cue.

The classes were offered by the Manitouwadge Family Health Team in collaboration with the Township of Manitouwadge Community Services Department at a cost of $12/class or $30 for all three classes which many participants took advantage of the savings to join.

Dziekonski has been teaching Zumba in Thunder Bay since 2009 and brings to her instruction, 25 years of dance experience which includes ballet, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom and Polish Folklore. She is certified in many types of Zumba, including: Zumba Gold for active older adults or deconditioned students, Zumba Toning to enhance rythm and build strength, Regular Zumba and combinations of these. She says that she had always enjoyed latin rhythms and that “When I took my first Zumba class in Florida I was HOOKED!” Dziekonski hopes that there could be some future instructors among those who participated Saturday and women in the group seemed to echo this with several speaking of interest.
