For areas stretching from the Manitoba border northeast to Lake Nipigon then east through southern sections of the Geraldton region, a mix of rain and snow is forecast to begin overnight. There will also be a risk of freezing rain and ice pellets, especially over the Atikokan – Upsala – Quetico region towards morning. Snow fall amounts of up to 15 centimetres are expected by Saturday evening. Precipitation will likely begin as freezing rain over Northeastern Ontario near Wawa and Chapleau late overnight then spread east towards the Kirkland Lake – New Liskeard – Temagami region Saturday morning. The freezing rain may persist for much of the day Saturday before changing to rain late in the day.
