NSSSAA FALL FINALS in MANITOUWADGE

Wolverines earn right to host Fall Finals with win over Vikings.

Manitouwadge High School will be the site for this 2011-2012 Fall Championship.

The Wolverines downed Michipicoten 25-5, 25-8 and 15-5 securing the right to be the host. The Junior Volleyball team from MHS also qualified with a 25-13, 25-10, 15-5 win over the Jr. Vikings. The Sr. Girls basketball team also won 39-13 to finish off their season.

In the most exciting game of the day, the Jr. Girls Basketball team from Manitouwadge needed overtime to defeat the favoured Vikings 23-19. It was their first win in two years. Coach Neil Esarte was thrilled with the Wolverine effort.

The following teams have qualified for NSSSAA Finals:

WEST DIVISION

  • Jr. Girls Basketball- Nip Rock Lakers
  • Sr. Girls Basketball- Nip-Rock Lakers
  • Jr. Boys Volleyball- Geraldton Knights
  • Sr. Boys Volleyball- Lake Superior Stingers

EAST DIVISION

  • Jr. Girls Basketball- Hornepayne or Trillium(Chapleau)
  • Sr. Girls Basketball-Hornepayne or Trillium(Chapleau)
  • Jr. Boys Volleyball- Hornepayne
  • Sr. Boys Volleyball- Chapleau or Hornepayne

Central Division

  • Jr. Girls Basketball- Ecole Catholic St. Joseph-Chevaliers
  • Sr. Girls Basketball- Marathon Falcons
  • Jr. Boys Volleyball- Manitouwadge Wolverines
  • Sr. Boys Volleyball- Manitouwadge Wolverines
