Schreiber Looks To Supportive Housing

SCHREIBER, ON – The Township of Schreiber is exploring the possibility of establishing a supportive housing project within our community. In collaboration with the Chimo Club, J.E. Stokes Medical Center, North Shore Family Health Team and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, the Township has developed a very brief survey to gauge residents knowledge and support regarding such an initiative.

What is Supportive Housing?

Schreiber Township and the Health Sectors care about our Seniors. Our mission is to provide augmented services for seniors. These are Seniors who need some assistance in order to continue, to live independently. These support services bridge a gap that exists between completely independent living and long-term care and may include: light housekeeping, meals, social and recreational activities.

Surveys were mailed out to all Schreiber residents on Friday November 25, 2011. Additional surveys are available at:

  • J.E. Stokes Medical Center
  • Schreiber Municipal Office
  • Post Office
  • Costa’s
  • Bank of Montreal

If you haven’t already done so, please take 3-5 minutes and fill out the “Supportive Housing Questionnaire” (CLICK HERE for questionnaire). Return your survey to any one of the locations mentioned above.
