FEMALE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

MARATHON ON – Sunday February 26, 2012, at 3:10am, Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol and observed a motor vehicle parked in a driveway with the headlights on. Upon returning to patrol by the vehicle a second time it was observed backing out of the driveway and driving off in an aggressive manner on Steedman Drive.  The vehicle was observed driving aggressively onto two other streets failing to come to a complete stop at two stop signs.

The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle when it failed to negotiate a turn into a driveway of a vacant lot.  Upon speaking with the driver it was determined that she was impaired by alcohol.

Cerina MCWATCH a 32 year old female, of Marathon, Ontario was arrested and charged with “Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood”.  The accused was released from custody and is to appear in Marathon Criminal Court on April 19, 2012 on these matters.

The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-800-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
