MALE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A SNOWMOBILE

MARATHON ON – Saturday February 18, 2012 at 09:50 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers conducted a R.I.D.E. program on Peninsula Road in the Town of Marathon.

While conducting the R.I.D.E. 2 snowmobiles approached the location. One snow machine tried to evade police but was stopped a short distance away on a side road. Upon speaking with the driver it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol.

Darcy COUGHLAN a 37 year old male, of Marathon, Ontario was arrested and charged with “Operate a Motor Vehicle with over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood”. The accused was released from custody and is to appear in Marathon Court on April 19, 2012 on these matters.

The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-800-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
