With the weather outside already reaching double-digits, it almost feels like spring is already here! Many people can be observed taking full advantage of the above average temperatures preparing their yards, jogging the streets and pulling out the summer gear.

In the midst of all of the sunshine, it might be easy to overlook the fact that there are a number of good movies hitting the shelves. This week really is no exception with the much anticipated “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” making it’s long anticipated debut. There are a total of nine new releases this week- let’s have a look at each one in detail;

NEW RELEASES ON DVD & Blu-RAY

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara– A journalist, with the help of a young computer hacker, is hired by a wealthy businessman to investigate the 40 year old unsolved murder of a family member. Based on the popular novel of the same name. (Suspense/Thriller) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

The Sitter: starring Jonah Hill– A young man is coaxed into babysitting the neighbors kids. What follows is a series of comedic misadventures. (Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

The Muppets: starring Jason Segal, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper– With the help of three fans, The Muppets come together to save their old theater from being taken over by a greedy oil tycoon. (Family) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Hop: featuring the voice of Russell Brand– SPECIAL FRIDAY (MARCH 23RD) RELEASE DATE: E.B., the Easter Bunny’s son, heads to Hollywood, determined to become a drummer in a rock ‘n’ roll band. (Family/Kids) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: starring Gary Oldman and Colin Firth– A veteran spy is forced out of retirement to help uncover a Soviet double agent during the Cold War. (Drama/Suspense) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Carnage: starring Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet– Two pairs of parents hold a meeting after their sons are involved in a fight. As their time together progresses, their increasingly childish behavior throws the meeting into chaos. (Comedy) (DVD)

Black Swarm: starring Robert Englund– A sheriff, along with her ex-boyfriend and a scientist, must fight to save their town after a swarm of genetically modified wasps escape from a lab. (Horror) (DVD)

Possession: starring Sarah Michelle Gellar– A woman’s life is turned upside-down after her husband and brother-in-law fall into comas after a car accident. Things become even more difficult after the brother-in-law wakes up thinking that he’s his brother. (Drama) (DVD)

Swinging With the Finkels: starring Mandy Moore– A young couple decide to shake up their marriage by “swinging” with another couple. (Comedy) (DVD)

FOR THE GAMERS

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City: It is September 1998 and Raccoon City is dealing with the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak, developed at the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Available for PS3 and 360.
