Marathon OPP Charge Driver with Stunt Driving & Impound Vehicle

DRIVER CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING AND VEHICLE IMPOUNDED FOR 7 DAYS

MARATHON ON – Friday March 2, 2012, at 6:30 pm, a Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 17 near the Black River bridge approximately 15 kms east of Marathon, Ontario.

The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and “clocked” the vehicle travelling at 154 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped by the officer and the driver, Adewuyi DAVIES, 41 years old, from Brampton Ontario was charged with “Racing a Motor Vehicle” as per the Highway Traffic Act section 172(1). DAVIES licence was suspended for seven (7) days and the vehicle was also impounded for the same length of time.

DAVIES is scheduled to appear inMarathoncourt on May 15, 2012.
