MANITOUWADGE, ON – This week the students and staff were made visually aware of the importance of keeping our earthenvironmentally safe and clean.  The Environmental Club at Manitouwadge Public School held an Earth Day Challenge to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd.

All the students watched Earth Day videos and afterwards they were grouped into teams where they planted sunflowers, made recycled animal sculptures, and participated in a recycling scavenger hunt.  Teams received points for completing each environmental task.  The  winning team is shown above proudly showing off their valued hodgepodge giraffe and trophy that could challenge the prestige of the Emmy!!!  Everything was made from re-cycled materials!

When children are aware of and treat the environment with respect, it certainly will pay off to the fullest for all of our futures!!!
