NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE SEIZE DRUGS IN ATTAWAPISKAT

THUNDER BAY, ON -March 22, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police members of the Attawapiskat Detachment with the assistance of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Drug Enforcement Unit charged a woman under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act after receiving information about drug trafficking.

Police located Oxycodone prescription pills hidden inside a package worth a street value of approximately two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars.

Twenty-four (24) year-old Kimberly Patricia OKIMAW has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  OKIMAW has been released on conditions and will next appear in court in Attawapiskat on August 29, 2012.

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
