HWY 17 WEST of WHITE RIVER, ON – Yesterday, May 13th, the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police advised mototrists that Highway 17 was closed,approximately 4km west of White River (east of the junction of Highway 614_, due to a forest fire burning in the area.
The highway remained closed for several hours, Highway 11 could be used as a detour for some travellers, and eventually police began escorting vehicles through.
