IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AND CHARGED
THUNDER BAY, ON – Tuesday, May 01st 2012 at approximately 7:25 pm, Thunder Bay OPP responded to a fail to remain collision that occurred on Highway 527.
The complainant advised that a black Dodge truck crossed the centre line striking the driver’s side mirror.
In the meantime, the OPP Provincial Communications Centre was advised of a traffic complaint regarding a black dodge truck that was north bound on Highway 527.
The complainant followed the vehicle which eventually went to Lac Des Iles Mine.
Upon arrival, an Officer spoke with the driver who revealed obvious signs of impairment. Subsequently, further investigation revealed that the diver was over three times the legal limit.
Ryan Wood, 35 years of age, from Greenstone was arrested and charged with;
- Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Drive Over 80 mgs
- Fail to Remain at Scene of an Accident, all under the Criminal Code.
He is to appear in Provincial Court on June 11th 2012 to answer to the charges.
