North of Superior Counselling Programs (NOSP) would like to congratulate four area volunteers who recently were recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration for continuous years of commitment and dedicated service to the Agency. Iris Smith and Gloria Marier from Dorion received the five-year Ontario Volunteer Service Award, and Helen Mehaffey of Geraldton and Caroline Brochu of Nipigon were recognized for 10 years with NOSP’s Senior Volunteer in Service (SVIS) program. The SVIS program is a friendly visiting service which matches seniors with a volunteer for regular at-home visits. Volunteers provide companionship and support, and are often willing to assist clients with their regular errands (e.g. take them grocery shopping, etc).

North of Superior Counselling Programs has seven offices located throughout the region. They are located in Geraldton, Longlac, Nipigon, Schreiber, Marathon, Manitouwadge, and Armstrong and provide children’s and adult mental health, addiction counselling, and support services to seniors.

Congratulations again to our four volunteers and thank you for your continued and valued service! For further information, please visit our website at www.nosp.on.ca
