TYLER’s TWO CENTS

It’s a week of sequels as two very popular franchises mark the release of follow-ups to their successful franchise marquees. Sherlock Holmes is back on the case as he teams of with trusty Dr. Watson to foil a devious plot by the evil Professor Moriarty. Meanwhile, in Europe, Johnny Blaze (aka Ghost Rider) is summoned back into action to save the world from the devil himself. There are seven new releases in total- here they are in more detail;

Sherlock Holmes-Game of Shadows: starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law– Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson join forces in an attempt to bring down their biggest rival, Professor Moriarty. (Action/Adventure) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance: starring Nicolas Cage- As the “Ghost Rider” hides out in Eastern Europe, he is called upon to stop the devil, who is trying to take human form. (Sci-Fi) (DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray)

Ticket Out: starring Ray Liotta- A mother and her child leave their town in an attempt to evade her abusive husband. Along the way, she meets a cop who taker her under his wing. (Action) (DVD)

Good Deeds: written by and starring Tyler Perry– A professional businessman finds himself out of sorts after meeting a cleaning woman from his office. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD)

Demoted: starring Sean Astin and David Cross– A pair of prankster tire salesman find themselves put into secretarial positions by their fed-up boss. (Comedy) (DVD)

Husk: After becoming stranded in a desolate cornfield, a group of friends seek shelter in an abandoned farmhouse. They soon discover that the house is the sight of a spooky spiritual ritual. (Horror) (DVD)

Madison County: A group of college students travel to a small town to interview the author of a tell-all book of grisly murders. When they arrive, the author is nowhere to be found… (Horror) (DVD)

Lollipop Chainsaw– The story of a female Zombie Hunter as she quests to uncover the truth behind a deadly zombie outbreak. Along the way, she uses her trusted chainsaw to slice and dice her way through hoards of zombies before discovering that the zombies have an agenda to eliminate her! Available for PS3 and 360.

In 2008, a young man and his uncle teamed up in a harrowing adventure to find a missing person in the “center of the earth”. Fast forward four years to 2012, and the same young man has apparently caught the travel bug once again. This time, he joins forces with his stepfather in an effort to locate his long lost grandfather on a mysterious and remote island off the coast of Palau. Journey 2- The Mysterious Island headlines a jam packed week of new releases with seven big titles in total. Let’s have a look at each one in more detail;

Man on a Ledge: starring Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks– In an attempt to prove his innocence, an ex-cop breaks out of prison and perches himself on the rooftop ledge of a New York City hotel. Meanwhile, a bold diamond heist is being carried out in an upscale office headquarters across the street. (Action/Suspense) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Machine Gun Preacher: starring Gerard Butler– The true story of an ex-con who is attempting to turn his life around by visiting the under privileged children of Sudan. While there, he goes above and beyond, risking his own life to provide a better life for the children. (Drama) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Bad Ass: starring Danny Trejo– After becoming famous for saving a man’s life on a city bus, a man decides to take further action by going after the thugs who murdered his best friend. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

The Collapsed– A family of four struggles to survive in the wake of the end of the world. (Horror) (DVD).

Inversion– A father and cop finds himself thrust into war when his city is invaded by unknown forces. With his daughter missing and conventional weapons proving to be all but useless, he teams up with his police partner in an attempt to defy gravity and save the world. Available for PS3 and 360.
