SCHREIBER, ON – The Township of Schreiber is pleased to announce staff expansion at the municipal office. May 14, 2012 Aaron MacMillan joined the team as an Economic Development Intern to increase growth and prosperity of the community.

MacMillan brings political acuity and development experience to the job role. He is a graduate of the Lakehead University Honours Bachelor of Arts program, majoring in Political Science. During his undergraduate studies, MacMillan was chosen to be a youth delegate in the global leader’s conference where he developed policies, social programs and communicated with federal G20 summit members about the Canadian youth input. Further academic achievements include participation on a Northern Exchange Program to Helsinki, Finland. Finally, MacMillan has spent the last three years employed by the Federal Government through Canada Border Services Agency.

Recently, the Township chose to sub-contract their economic development needs to a regional service provider. During the course of these changes, an internship position was developed to further enhance the economic development initiatives of the community.

MacMillan’s background has already made him a key addition to the Township of Schreiber. Please join the Township in welcoming Aaron MacMillan to the team!
The internship is largely funded through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Coporation (NOHFC) Youth Internship and Co-Op Program.
NOHFC is a crown corporation and development agency of the Ontario government that invests in northern businesses and municipalities through conditional contributions, forgivable performance loans, incentive term loans and loan guarantees.
