PIC MOBERT POW WOW GROUNDS, ON – The 26th Annual Pic Mobert First Nation Pow Wow was held August 3rd to 5th on the shores of the White River.  Once again the Pow Wow was very well attended with many people taking advantage of the on-site camping to stay the weekend.

Again this year, the weekend was opened with remarks from the Grand Chief of the Union of Ontario Indians Pat Madahbee Friday evening.  Pow Wow dignitaries included; Master Of Ceremonies James Mishquart, Host Drum Thunder Mountain and Co-Host Fearless Ojibway. In addition to honorariums for attending drums, honorariums were also presented at the end of the weekend to registered dancers in regalia of which there were many.

The weather cooperated for the most part though it was a little chilly in the evenings and even Sunday afternoon the sun was shining bright as the Pow Wow ended early Sunday evening.  It was a great weekend of celebration, family and friends both old and new as everyone left with many wonderful memories looking forward to the 27th Annual Pic Mobert Pow Wow in 2013.
