As kids across the region head back to school, a young girl in the movie Safe finds herself removed from hers. Possessing incredible mathematical talents, Mei- a 12 year old student in China, is hand chosen by a ruthless group of Chinese criminals to be their counter (keeping track of their business data and numbers). Also starring Jason Statham, Safe headlines this week’s new release slate. There are eight new releases in total. Here they are in more detail;

NEW RELEASES ON DVD & BLU-RAY

Safe: starring Jason Statham– A young girl who holds a priceless numerical code, finds herself pursued by ruthless criminals and corrupt NYC cops. Coming to her aid is a disgruntled ex-cage fighter whose life was destroyed by the same gangsters chasing the young girl. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)


Five Year Engagement: starring Jason Segal and Emily Blunt– After dating for one year, a man proposes to his girlfriend with the intentions of a prompt wedding. As a series of unexpected events continue to delay their wedding, the prompt wedding turns out to be anything but. (Romantic Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Piranha DD: starring Danielle Panabaker– The flesh eating piranhas that shut down Lake Victoria are back! This time, they are traveling through underground lakes and pipes making their way to a wacky water park- just in time for opening day! (Horror) (DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D)

Touchback: starring Kurt Russell– A respected coach reflects back fifteen years to the injury that cost him his once promising football career. (Drama) (DVD)

High School: starring Matt Bush and Colin Hanks– After experimenting with drugs for the first time, a bright high school senior finds out that his principal is implementing a strict zero tolerance drug policy which results in the expulsion of anyone who fails. (Comedy) (DVD)

Route Irish: starring John Bishop– A private security contractor in Iraq sets out to find the truth about the death of his friend after not being satisfied with the answers from the Iraqi government. (Action/Drama) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Heaven Strewn: starring Rob Tepper– A man recruits his unwilling friend to help him recover money that he lost during a botched counterfeiting scheme. (Drama) (DVD)

Sand Sharks: starring Brooke Hogan– A man-eating shark that can swim through sand makes his way to a tropical paradise where he terrorizes the locals and tourists alike. (Horror) (DVD)

Nothing new this week, but NHL 13 releases September 11th. If you want to pre-order this title, please do so asap to avoid disappointment!
