DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

MARATHON ON –On Friday September 7, 2012 approximately 12:15 am, a Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol in the Town of Marathon.

The officer observed a black Jeep SUV being driven in an erratic manner and stopped the vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. The officer observed the male driver exhibiting signs of intoxication and arrested the driver for Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle. The male was taken to the Marathon OPP detachment for breath tests. After the breath tests which were more then twice the legal limit, the male was further charged with Over 80.

John PALMER, 48, from Thunder Bay ON was charged with:

  • “Impaired operation of a Motor Vehicle”
  • “Operate a Motor Vehicle with over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood”.

The accused was released from custody and is to appear in Marathon Criminal Court on November 15, 2012.
