MANITOUWADGE, ON – September10th the auctioning of Grade 9 students to be purchased by seniors returned to MHS.  What was once known as ‘Initiation Week’ has returned as ‘Welcome Week’ with a focus on fun and making the new students feel more at ease as they begin their secondary schol experience.

The pair of students which claimed the dubious title of “Most Expensive” was Taylor Hunter and Jessah Clement having been sold for 110 dollars. The moneys raised from the auction contribute to the MHS Graduation Committee’s account.

In the week that followed their was plenty of entertainment with students being asked to dress up to attend school, a blindfolded pudding eating contest and other similarly silly activities all intended to help the Grade 9 students get past the anxiousness that may accompany beginning high school while getting to know the senior class and rest of their peers.
