For many years, the Alien Franchise was a huge hit with sci-fi fans around the world. Sigourney Weaver and her crew explored the many depths of space leading to many thrills and chills along the way. Fast forward to 2012 and the Alien franchise gets rebooted with “Prometheus” starring Charlize Theron. Prometheus was one of six titles making their debut this week.

Prometheus: starring Charlize Theron and Guy Pearce – A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe where they must fight to save mankind. (Sc-Fi) (DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray)
Rock of Ages: starring Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and Catherine Zeta-Jones – A small town girl and city boy meet in Hollywood where they are each pursuing their musical dreams while performing in a quirky club. (Musical/Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
The Raven:starring John Cusack – When a criminal begins committing horrific murders inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s works, a young Baltimore detective joins forces with Poe to stop him from making his stories a reality. (Thriller/Mystery) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Giant Mechanical Man:starring Jenna Fischer and Topher Grace – A hard on her luck zoo worker meets a silver painted street performer. Together they form a bond and become key parts of each other’s lives. (Comedy/Drama) (DVD)
Barricade: starring Eric McCormack – A father takes his two children to an isolated cabin for a weekend getaway- that soon turns into a fight for survival. (Thriller/Horror) (DVD)
Losing Control– A dedicated scientist makes it her mission to scientifically prove that her boyfriend is “the one”. (Comedy) (DVD)

Dishonored – Quoted by Metro to be “a complex story-driven action adventure that mixes elements of first person shooters, stealth games, and role-playing in a way that hasn’t really been seen since the glory days of System Shock, Deus Ex, and Thief on the PC.” The story surrounds the once-trusted bodyguard of the Empress who was Framed for murder. Driven by revenge, you must become an infamous assassin as you navigate a world torn apart by plague and oppressed by a government armed with strange new technologies in order to redeem yourself and discover the truth behind the murder.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my heartfelt condolences to everyone who affected by the horrible car accident that took place in Pic River a couple of nights back. This incident has truly affected so many people who were friends and family of the victims. One of the young men played for the Crossover Video Blue Jays last baseball season. He was a great young man and he will be truly missed by his teammates. Once again, I send my thoughts and well-wishes to all of the families and friends of all the victims. Please stay strong and look out for each other during this sad and trying time!
