MANITOUWADGE, ON – Yesterday evening, people were eager to begin bidding on some of the more than 80 items available at the “Friends of Malaya” Down East Dinner & Auction.  There are many beautiful packages available, accommodations, catered meals, specialty items and a number of ‘not available in stores’ pieces to bid on. Organizers have been overwhelmed with the amount of support shown by local and area businesses for this worthwhile fundraiser to assist with costs for a local family whose young adult daughter was injured last august and has since required intensive rehabilitative care in southern Ontario. Bidding continues tonight at Our Lady of Lourdes church basement from 6:30-8:30pm and tomorrow (Saturday, November 17th) from 2-3:30pm.  Those who do not have tickets for the supper can have someone in attendance bid as their proxy to ensure their absence does not result in the loss of  a favourite item.  For more information or to view some of the available auction items, CLICK HERE.
