SCHREIBER, ON – Holy Angels Catholic School were gifted with a visit from Royal Canadian Navy Lieutenant Commander Les Newman today. Leiutant Commander Newman, who is also a MARS Officer (maritime surface and subsurface officer), spoke to the students and staff about the importance of remembering all the men and women who have fought in World War I and World War II to protect our freedom as Canadians.  In his power point presentation Lieutenant Commander Newman explained to those in attendance that there are still soldiers today, in various countries throughout the world, fighting for peace.

We encouraged students to participate in Remembrance Day events so that we do “remember” these heroic men and women. There will be an official Remembrance Day Parade taking place in Schreiber on Sunday November 11th, residents are asked to meet at the Legion at 10:45am the parade will then make its way to the Cenotaph for a special ceremony.
