IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AND CHARGED – Marathon

MARATHON, ON – Saturday November 17, 2012 at 11:00 pm, an officer from the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a male drive his motor vehicle to a local convenience store and then exits the vehicle. The officer spoke with the driver and detected a strong odour of alcohol on the male and observed obvious signs of the male being intoxicated.

Andre PELLETIER, 42 years old of Marathon ON was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Marathon OPP for breath tests. The results of the breath tests were over the legal limit and the driver was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

The accused is to appear in Marathon court on January 24, 2013 to answer to the charges.

The festive holiday season is upon us, so please prevent drinking and driving by calling a cab, calling a friend for a ride or walking home. If you suspect someone is driving while impaired, please call 9-1-1 to report it and keep the streets safe.
