SUDBURY MPP TO RETIRE & STEP DOWN AS MINISTER OF NORTHERN DEVELOPMENT & MINES

Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci has announced he will retire at the end of his term.

Sudbury MPP stepping down as Minister of Northern Development and Mines on Monday

SUDBURY, ON – Thursday, Feb. 7th, Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced, that after 18 years as Sudbury’s MPP, he will retire from politics at the end of his term and step down from his posititon as  the Minister of Northern Development and Mines Monday having withdrawn his name for a possible cabinet position.

The new Minister of Northern Development and Mines will be announced Monday, along with the other members of Premier-Designate, Kathleen Wynne’s new cabinet.

Bartolucci’s announcement follows that of Finance Minister Dwight Duncan who announced he will be leaving office February 14th. A CBC News Report said that “Duncan made it clear during the Liberal leadership campaign that he intended to step down soon — saying he didn’t want to stay in cabinet because premier-designate Kathleen Wynne needs a new team to lead the government”.
