STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED – TWO YOUTH CHARGED

NIPIGON, ON – During late August and early September 2012, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment received reports of stolen property, bicycles and scooters, from residents in the Town of Nipigon and Red Rock, Ontario.  On April 15, 2013 police investigation resulted in the recovery of stolen property at a residence at Lake Helen First Nation.  Two suspects were arrested and charged.

A 17 year old male of Lake Helen First Nation has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.  A 13 year old male of Lake Helen First Nation has also been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused were held for a show cause hearing and released on this date.  They are scheduled to appear in Nipigon Court on May 28, 2013 to answer to the charges.

Police continue to investigate and further charges are pending.
