Freezing rain beginning this morning, becoming heavier this afternoon, and continuing tonight and Friday morning.

Precipitation along a cold front has begun as wet snow or ice pellets. An area of freezing rain is expected to develop this morning mainly along a band from Marathon to White River and northeastward through Manitouwadge, Hornepayne and Hearst. The freezing rain is expected to be mainly west of Wawa and north of Chapleau. A few heavier bands of freezing rain are expected to continue this afternoon and into tonight and Friday morning.

Ice accretion will be just a thin coating initially however this afternoon and evening there could be several millimetres of ice on surfaces. Travel may be impacted through the period beginning this morning into Friday morning. There is some uncertainty in the timing of the heaviest freezing rain so this warning will updated regularly.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution as untreated roads may become slippery.
