Great Turnout for Hazardous Waste Day in Terrace Bay

Terrace Bay had a great turnout at its annual Hazardous Waste Recycling Day held on Saturday May 25, 2013. The collection event was visited by an estimated 90 vehicles dropping off hazardous waste materials that included paint, batteries, propane tanks, fluorescent lights and more.  The materials were transported to Potter Environmental in Thunder Bay after the event for recycling or disposal in a safe manner. Many thanks to the incredible volunteers that came out for the event and the service from industry partner Potter Environmental. Funding for the Hazardous Waste Day event is received from Stewardship Ontario and the Recycling Council of Ontario.  The event is held in cooperation with the Township of Schreiber and is open to visitors from the Terrace Bay / Schreiber region.  For more information on Terrace Bay, visit www.terracebay.ca.
