RED ROCK, ON – Friday April 26th, the Red Rock Welcoming Committee held their annual Breaking the Ice Social in conjunction with National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

Staff and Council of the Township of Red Rock understand that the festivals, events, functions and leisure activities which take place throughout the year in their community would not be possible without the overwhelming support of volunteers and feels it is important to recognize these groups and individuals for the time and commitment they contribute.

Each of the 22 volunteer committees was recognized with a plaque of appreciation, from the Township, for the valuable contributions they have made.

Each of the volunteer organizations that serve Red Rock, was asked by the Welcoming Committee to set up a booth, highlighting their accomplishments to recruit new volunteers or sell memberships to the residents of Red Rock.

The Welcoming Committee would to thank all the businesses, residents and volunteer organizations who  contributed to making the evening a great success.
