TWO ARRESTED FOR TRAFFICKING DRUGS TO A CHILD

LONGLAC, ON –  May 8, 2013, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone Detachment received a call from a concerned parent about possible drug use by her child.

Police investigation revealed that two different adults had exchanged both marijuana and cash with the youth for prescription drugs.

William REHEL, 33 years of age of Longlac has been charged with 1 count of trafficking drugs.  He was arrested and remanded into custody.  He has since been released on a Recognizance to appear in Longlac court on June 19, 2013.

Kelvin FERRIS, 23 years of age of Longlac has been charged with three counts of trafficking drugs and one count of theft from a motor vehicle.  He was arrested and remanded into custody.   He was since been released on a Recognizance to appear in Thunder Bay court on July 11, 2013.

The OPP urges parents to talk to their children about the importance of taking their medication according to the directions by a physician and about not sharing their prescription medication with anyone for any purpose.
