SERIOUS INJURY SUSTAINED AS A RESULT OF COLLISION IN MANITOUWADGE

MARATHON ON –  Thursday, June 4 2013, just before noon, three employees of the Ministry of Naturals Resources (MNR) were refuelling containers at the service station on Manitou Road in Manitouwadge when a second vehicle collided with the rear of the MNR vehicle.

Two people were transported to the Manitouwadge General Hospital, one of whom had sustained a serious injury. The 23 year old male was later transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre. The second person, a 22 year old female was treated and released.

The 60 year old female driver of the second vehicle, from Manitouwadge, has not been charged. The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact Constable Reuben Biersworth of the Ontario Provincial Police, Manitouwadge office, at 807-826-4641
