Severe thunderstorm watch for Cloud Bay – Dorion issued

Potential for severe thunderstorms today.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall..Monitor weather conditions and keep reading for updated bulletins.

Severe thunderstorm watch. Thunderstorms developing along a warm front just south of the international border have the potential to become severe. The main threat with these storms would be large hail and torrential downpours. Damaging winds are a lesser threat. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out either.

Rainfall warning. Showers and thunderstorms tracking along the warm front have given rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm over much of the region. The rain is expected to end this afternoon.
