Tuesday was emergency day at daycamp.  The leaders went through their first aid kit with the kids and talked about safety.  In the afternoon they got to tour the Ambulance base and see where the paramedics stay during their 24 hour shifts.  The kids were all able to have a turn playing with the lights and sirens on the Ambulance.

Wednesday afternoon was a tour of the museum.  The kids loved looking at the animals, learning about mining and seeing the history of Manitouwadge.

Thursday was Firefighters day.  The kids made their own paper origami Sparky dogs and thank you post cards for the firefighters.  At the station they watched a safety video followed by a tour of the base. They really enjoyed going on all the fire trucks and they were surprised with a bag of goodies and a fire hat at the end of the tour.

Friday was planned out as a pool day but due to the unfortunate weather the swimming was cancelled. The children however enjoyed watching the newly formed tree frogs, which were still tadpoles earlier in the week. To date all 9 tadpoles were raised by the daycamp kids and released as tree frogs into nature.
