LOCK IT OR LOSE IT REMINDER FOR GERALDTON RESIDENTS

GREENSTONE, ON – Over the past several days, Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has been reminding residents to take their personal property out of their vehicles and lock them even when they are parked in their own driveways.

Over the course of the past five days, Greenstone OPP has had reports of unlocked vehicles in different areas of town being entered and various items stolen.  Sometime overnight on Sunday July 28, 2013 unknown culprits entered a vehicle on Main Street and removed a flashlight and a knife. Also that same evening a vehicle parked at a residence on First Street East was entered and a Sirius radio and two keychains were stolen.

Sometime overnight on July 30, 2013 unlocked vehicles parked on both First Street East and Third Avenue were entered. In both of these instances no items were stolen.

The OPP would like to remind local residents of Geraldton that any area can be affected by thieves and remember to lock it or lose it.
