Celebrate World Habitat Day in Marathon!

THUNDER BAY, ON – In December 1985, the United Nations General Assembly declared the first Monday in October to be World Habitat Day; this is a day each year that is set aside to recognize the basic need for adequate shelter in a world where it is lacking for so many.

On Sunday October 6, and Monday, October 7, Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay will observe World Habitat Day to highlight the need for safe, decent and affordable shelter. Volunteerism has been a large part of the reason our mission, to provide a hand up to affordable home ownership, has been successful! We are inviting you to attend our celebrations welcoming 4 new partner families to their homes, 2 families in Marathon and 2 families in Thunder Bay.

The events will also include a visit from Mark Rodgers; Chief Operating Officer of Habitat for Humanity Canada. Mark will be sharing with us the importance of World Habitat Day and how bringing people together to build homes and build communities has brought hope to each of these families.

We ask everyone who supports Habitat to join us for these two events at:
