Zombies! They’ve been a part of movie and television fiction for decades, but the living dead seem to have gotten a second life lately with an abundance of zombie themed programs appearing on people’s TV screens. This week, the zombies are fast and furious and only Brad Pitt stands between them and taking over the world. World War Z is a chilling and often times thrilling tale of worldwide zombie epidemic. It is the headliner in a week that sees a total of ten new releases. Below is a brief synopsis of each;

The East: starring Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard – A special agent finds her priorities changing dramatically after she is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks on major corporations. Erased: starring Aaron Eckhart – An ex-CIA agent and his daughter are forced to go on the run after his employer erases all records of his existence, and marks them both for termination as part of an international conspiracy. (Thriller) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Arthur Newman: starring Colin Firth and Emily Blunt – A man fakes his own death and assumes a new identity in order to escape his life, then moves in with a woman who is also trying to leave her past behind. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD)

Drift: starring Sam Worthington and Xavier Samuel – In the 70s two brothers battle killer waves, conservative society and ruthless bikers in an attempt to make a business out of the surfing. (Drama) (DVD) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Pawn Shop Chronicles: starring Paul Walker, Brendan Fraser and Matt Dillon – A missing wedding ring leads to an all out misadventure involving a wide and eclectic group of characters. (Action/Comedy) (DVD) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Scenic Route: starring Josh Duhamel – Tensions rise between lifelong friends after their truck breaks down on an isolated desert road and their tempers begin to get the best of them. (Drama) (DVD)
