New Show Hopes To Engage Viewers And Encourage Debate

. “]MANITOUWADGE, ON – Local, daily paper OntarioNewsNorth.com launched a new Youtube channel recently on which the pilot episode of #ChatNorth was uploaded Friday, September 6th.

There will be some additions to content and minor changes to format explained creator Karina Hunter (and eventual improvement in regards to production) as plans are for future episodes to include topics that are relevant to a broader Northern Ontario audience as well as municipal current affairs that relate to many in rural municipalities.

Hunter, hopes viewers will participate by sharing their opinions on the topics covered through comments and video replies and provide suggestions for topics they’d like to hear debated and discussed. “Thanks to social media like Twitter, Reddit, Youtube; viewers are provided the opportunity to participate in programming in so many ways” explained Hunter “I want OntarioNewsNorth.com to be a transmedia experience where people don’t just read the news, they are able to watch interviews with those making the news, participate by tweeting questions and topics for interviews and now for additional programming like #ChatNorth as well, debate the topics on Reddit or Facebook and so much more”.  Hunter hopes the program will encourage more people to follow their local and regional news, and engage her Northern Ontario audience by inspiring them to join the conversation.
