Youth Accused of Selling Drugs Outside the Nipigon-Red Rock District High School; 3 Arrested

  NIPIGON OPP CHARGE YOUTH WITH DRUG OFFENCES

NIPIGON, ON –Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment have charged three youth in relation to a recent drug trafficking investigation.

September 27, 2013 officers with the Nipigon OPP Detachment attended the Nipigon-Red Rock District High School, located in Red Rock Ontario. Upon arriving at the school, officers observed a youth who appeared to be selling drugs in front of the high school.

The investigation has led to multiple charges for a male youth from Nipigon Ontario. The youth has been charged with:

  • Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams,
  • Trafficking Cannabis Marihuana,
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,

contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. The male youth has also been charged with one count of Breach of Probation contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused youth has been held in custody at a Youth Detention Facility in Thunder Bay pending a bail hearing.

Two other male youths, one from Red Rock Ontario and one from Hurkett Ontario, have been charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. Both are to appear in Nipigon court on December 3rd, 2013 to answer to these charges.
