TYLER TALKS

Scary movies are as popular as they ever have been- but rarely do they perform up to their hype at the box office. A glaring exception to this trend debuted in theatres July 19th across North America, and by the end of its run, it had shattered all industry expectations with a mind boggling 137 million dollars in box office revenue. The Conjuring, starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, is the supposedly true story of renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they reveal their most troubling case- one that they had not shared with the public until now. This movie gained powerful word-of-mouth as news surfaced that some theatre goers had to leave do to the movie being so intensely frightening! Independent Video Store Day Wrap-Up

This past Saturday, October 19th, was International Independent Video Store Day [Click underlined text for Tyler’s full article]. This was a day celebrated by Independently owned movie stores across the world in a joint effort to promote business and raise awareness of the importance that movie stores serve to their community and culture. At Crossover, we celebrated with in-store sales, free samples and giveaways. Customers who spent 20 dollars or more also had a chance to win a Sony Blu-Ray Player.  Unfortunately, we were not able to capture any pictures of the event, but judging by the smiles on the faces of the customers as they took advantage of big savings, and sampled chocolate bars and popcorn,  the event was a rousing success! At the end of the day, the lucky winner of the Sony Blu-Ray player was Renee Leclair of Marathon- congrats Renee! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and took part in the festivities. Remember to support your local video stores, and be sure to watch for the 4th annual International Independent Video Store Day next year!

Have a safe week and don’t forget to support your local businesses!
