MANITOUWADGE, ON – Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is involved in the Brick By Brick Project (Free The Children Organization).  The Superior North Catholic District School Board schools have set a goal to raise enough money to build a well for the Kenyan Village of Ngosuani (links below to fundraising efforts by other schools in SNCDSB).  Our goal for OLOL school is to raise $1000.00 this year.

Mrs. Williams Giles’ Grade 5 students have been learning about the village of Ngosuani.  The students were amazed to realize the negative implications of having no access to clean water have had on this community.  The Grade 5 students came up with the idea, planned, organized and participated in a bake sale last Friday.  Each student showed great excitement about baking for this cause and it inspired many others in regards to the idea of making a difference in the world.  Through this bake sale and generous donations the Grade 5 class raised an amazing amount of $640.10!  We would like to thank everyone who donated baked goods, time and money to this project.

The teachers and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes are so proud of the students who showed that from our small community of Manitouwadge, we CAN make a difference in the world!  Way to go!  Stay tuned for further fundraising events brought to you by the students of Our Lady of Lourdes School!
